An award-winning practice

Building on the success of our Customer First award earlier this year, we are delighted to announce that Dr Martin Anderson has been awarded a Caring for Carers award by The Princess Royal Trust for Carers.

The award recognises the oustanding contribution to caring for carers in Sunderland by Dr Anderson. We would like to thank our patient for the nomination.

A fond farewell...

It is with mixed emotions that Wessington Way Dental Practice bid farewell to our practice manager, Sharon Pattison.

Sharon has been with the practice since the foundations were laid and has given us 10 years of dedicated service throughout her career from dental nurse to practice manager.

Although this is sad news from our point of view, Sharon is leaving for the best of reasons, to start a new life in Sweden with her long-awaited family.

We wish the Pattison family the very best of luck from all at Wessington Way.

Mr and Mrs Oliver

The Wessington Way team would like to congratulate our practice supervisor, Amanda, who recently got married on 12th June in stunning surroundings of Ullswater in the Lake District.

We wish Amanda and Craig many years of happiness.

Having a ball!

Martin and Cheryl Anderson invited Wessington Way team members to the British Dental Association's annual Summer Ball. The event was held at picturesque Redworth Hall in County Durham. After a day in the spa they enjoyed getting glammed up for an evening of wining, dining and dancing!

It was also a bit of a reunion as we were joined by former team members, Helen and Andrew.

Richard Coates and Jayne Fagan would like to thank all of the patients that sponsored them for the Great North Swim 2011. Your kind donations have helped to raise almost £500 for the Grace House North East Children's Hospice appeal.

Richard finished the swim in 38 minutes with first-timer Jayne following in 55 minutes.

Great News!

We are delighted to announce that we have just become the first dental practice in the country to be accredited with the Customer First Award. Our Assessor commended us on our very high standard of customer care and suggested that the practice be used as a beacon standard for others.

We have also been re-accredited with the Investors In People award.

A New Arrival!

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Alexander Pattison, the second son of our Practice Manager, Sharon Pattison.

He arrived 10 weeks early and so caused us all a certain amount of anxiety but is now fighting fit!

A sad farewell to Helen and Andrew

During September 2010, we had had to bid a sad farewell to Dental care Professionals, nurses Helen Fowler and Andrew Grout – but for the very best of reasons.  They have both been accepted to train as Dental Therapists at Newcastle University and Teeside University respectively. At least this gave us a good excuse to have a garden party where patients and team members were able to toast Helen and Andrew and wish them every success.

A warm welcome to Karen and Kirsty

The garden party was also the perfect opportunity to welcome our new trainee dental nurses Karen Russell and Kirsty Everest.  They joined us in August 2010 and will begin their dental nurse training shortly with the North East Chamber of Commerce.
